Routine appointments are available 48 hours in advance or 2 weeks’ time in the afternoon (subject to availability). Telephone and face-to-face options are available.

We recommend the best time to book these appointments is after 2pm Monday to Friday.

Urgent appointments will be allocated a same-day appointment.

Our highly trained staff will ask you for some information regarding your urgent onset condition and help Care-Navigate you to the relevant appointment. This information will then be assessed by our on-call GP.

Patients who request a routine appointment anytime during the day which the practice is unable to book due to no further available routine appointments will be offered to join our waiting list (subject to criteria).

You will be allocated a routine appointment within 2–4 weeks of your request.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason, please inform us as soon as possible so that we can offer the slot to another patient.

If you are able to get to the surgery to see your doctor, please do so. Home visits are only for patients who are too ill to attend the surgery.

Please ring as soon after 8am as possible to allow the GPs to plan their visits. The GP may call back for more information or ask a nurse to visit if appropriate.

Having no transport is not a reason to request a home visit — patients are expected to use public or private transport.

If you are suffering from dental pain, please do not make an appointment with a doctor. You should contact your dentist.

If you have problems contacting your own dentist, please contact the Gwent Dental Helpline on 01633 744387 (Monday to Friday, 9am – 4pm).

Patients who are not registered with a dentist can obtain an appointment via the Helpline. They can also advise on practices taking new NHS patients in the Gwent area.
